The Very Reverend Philip L. Erickson, JCL, KHS
Very Reverend Philip L. Erickson, JCL, KHS has been appointed as an adjutant judicial vicar for the Metropolitan Tribunal of Louisville, effective October 10, 2024. This appointment is in addition to his current role as pastor at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Church and Saint Therese Lisieux Church, all in Louisville, Kentucky.
Father Erickson, born in Louisville, Kentucky was ordained on May 27, 1995. He attended major seminary at Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology, in Saint Meinrad, Indiana, and furthered his studies at St. Paul University, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada where he earned his M.C.L. and J.C.L. Father currently serves as pastor at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Church, and Saint Therese Lisieux Church, all in Louisville, Kentucky. Prior to that he served as pastor at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church while continuing as administrator at Saint Thomas More Church, Louisville. Father has also served as an associate pastor at Saint Raphael, Louisville, and as a sacramental moderator at Saint John the Baptist, Brandenburg. In addition to parish work, Father Erickson has served as a chaplain at St. Francis DeSales High School, Louisville, as a guest instructor at Spalding University, Louisville, and as a presider for Mass of the Air. Father previously served The Metropolitan Tribunal of Louisville as an adjutant judicial vicar. He has served at the Archdiocesan level as a commissioned member of the Planning Commission, as a representative on Priests’ Council and most recently as the president of Priests’ Council. |
